I want to use a dopplet in DigitalOcean to study in TryHackMe.
To identify the machines in THM i need to connect the dopplet to a OpenVPN, but when i do that i can’t find any machine. There is a right way to do this ?

Hello there @anlpuddinbr

Have you downloaded the configuration file and uploaded it to your server? Looking at this there are some instructions on how to connect on TryHackMe website’s as well which you can check here:

https://docs.tryhackme.com/docs/openvpn/connecting/openvpn-connecting/

Hope that this helps!
Regards,
Alex

  • I did all of the steps, but now i found what’s happening.
The Ubuntu isn’t routing the traffic through the vpn, so that the only way i can ping, for example, is doing “ping X.X.X.X -I tun0”.
Some guys said that i can fix it changing the routing table, but i don’t know how to do this.
I followed some tutorial on the internet but when i do the steps i lose connection to the doplet.

    • Hello there,

You can try reaching to TryHackMe team and ask for additional assistance. The steps seem fairly simple to follow but there might be some extra steps you might need to complete. The steps for Linux are also listed here:

      https://tryhackme.com/room/openvpn

Also, there is option to use TryHackMe without a VPN which is mentioned on the same page as well.

      Alex
