Question

using an older image

Hi there, digitalocean offers an Invoice Ninja image, which is great. As expected it’s up to date with the latest version. My question is if it might be possible to use an older image (latest v4 version in my case)? Thank you

At this moment, DigitalOcean typically only provides the latest stable version available from the vendor for One-Click application images. We do not provide older versions, like latest v4 for Invoice Ninja, through the marketplace.

Your best option would be to manually install the older version of Invoice Ninja on a Droplet. For the installation instructions, please refer to the official Invoice Ninja documentation.

For further details about our One-Click applications, you can refer to the DigitalOcean Marketplace documentation.

Hey!

Yes, the 1-Click image from the Marketplace comes with the latest version, but once you spin up the server you will have root access to the server and you will be able to make any changes that you need to.

What you could do is to spin up the 1-Click installation version, then SSH to the server, remove the existing installation files and keep only the .env file, then manually clone a specific version using the instructions here:

https://invoiceninja.github.io/en/self-host-installation/#installation-from-git-advanced

An alternative option is to spin up a standard Ubuntu Droplet and follow the installation steps from the official Ninja Invoice self-hosted guide above. That way you will have full control over of what has been installed on the server.

Hope that this helps!

Best,

Bobby
