Using spaces to store images

Anyone using spaces to store images and then retrieving them to show them on UI. I want to develop a usecase where we store images in spaces and then send it to UI (Angular) via spring boot service. How is it behaving with millions of images.

Thanks in advance.

Hello there,

The Spaces products are specially intended for this purpose.

DigitalOcean Spaces is an object storage service that can be used to store large amounts of diverse, unstructured data. A lot of people use Spaces in order to host their static content and load them from there instead of hosting them directly on their droplets. Using object storage for these types of static resources can optimize site performance by freeing up space and resources on your servers

You can also enable CDN to speed up your end-user experience by caching assets at more than 25 global points of presence.

Hope that this helps!

  • Thanks for the reply Alex. I think you misunderstood my question. I dont want to use it as CDN rather as a content repository. I want to store any type of document like excel, pdf, png, jpeg etc. But all these docs should be rendered in UI and so should be very quickly. And these documents can be accessed only through backend API (which we will develop using AWS S3 api). So my usecase here is mostly is using spaces as content repository.

    • Hello there,

You can use it as a content repository. I’ve mentioned the CDN option just so you can be aware that this can speed up your end-user experience by caching assets (if you want to do so of course).
