I am looking for a machine to run distributed computing projects. New to cloud computing - but I like the sound of it.

But, I haven't seen what I am buying. What does it look like? Like my comp has an i7-blah blah. But what would my virtual workstation look like? I may start with a single Xeon core and some RAM which I may want to upgrade further.

So summary:

  1. What am I buying/renting?
  2. Do I have to install Windows/Linux on it?
  3. Would I see a About page with how many processors and RAM I have?
  4. Can I upgrade in say 3 days?

  2. On the setup droplet page you can install a linux distribution.
  3. Yes on the control panel, though you can install linux dash if you want to see exact specs.
  4. Yes, you can resize your droplet whenever you feel like it.
