Hi,
We are on Debian 9.3 x64 at digital ocean and when doing uname -a at console we get Linux debian-lon-app 4.9.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.65-3 (2017-12-03) x86_64 GNU/Linux

Please anyone can help me which version we are using currently.. if it is Debian 4.9.65 vesion then please let us know in which way we can upgrade the Linux version as we used ‘apt-get update’ and 'apt update’ command to upgrade linux but still getting Debian 4.9.65 version.

Regards.
Rama

  • Hi Woet,

Thanks for quick response but I am not asking about the command that tell us the version.

My question is here that what Linux version are we using..
At Digital ocean we chose the version Debian 9.3 x64 and it is displaying correctly at screen like

    debian-app
    1 GB Memory / 30 GB Disk / APP1 - Debian 9.3 x64

but when we click on console link that provided by digital ocean at same page and use the following command to know the version
‘uname -v’ then it gives us

    1 SMP Debian 4.9.65-3+deb9u1 (2017-12-23)

we want to know why both place are showing different for version. we need to use latest version of Linux. we are confused that console is displaying different whereas we chose Debian 9.3 x64

so We want to know which one is correct. IF console is correct then we need to upgrade Linux version as latest so we want to know the process to upgrade the version (as we used two Linux command to upgrade the version that is 'apt-get update’ and 'apt update’ but still displaying as Debian 4.9.65 )

    Please help us

    Regards,
    Rama
