UbuntuWordPressControl Panels

Hello I would like to know if i can create my own web hosting services and allow my clients a control panel like cpanel alternative zpanel. I currently have a reseller acct with other web host and would like to change to cloud servers instead, but want the same ease with which i create accts in WHM. Can someone give a overview of what I would need to do. I will only be hosting wordpress sites.
Thanks.

We don’t provide licenses for cPanel/WHM or any control panel but you can certainly install them on droplets on your account to accomplish this. For cPanel you would need to acquire a VPS license from cPanel.net or a reseller and this guide will walk you through the install. cPanel’s official documentation also has a guide if you prefer CentOS 7.x

cPanel is a convenient application that allows users to administer servers through a GUI interface instead of the traditional command line. Although the installation for cPanel is relatively simple, the script does take several hours to run. Here's how to install cPanel on a virtual server running Centos 6

Hello thanks for the reply but I meant I don’t want to use cpanel , and i’m unclear if zpanel will allow almost the same features as cpanel. I would really like to know what free tools I could use with your servers to start a hosting services. Thanks.

I would recommend VestaCP for hosting. You can install it on CentOS/Ubuntu/Debian.

ZPanel is good however cPanel is far better. The only downside to cPanel is the hefty price you have to pay for the license. I personally use BuycPanel.net to get my licenses.

Alternatively if your clients are true coding people, you can set them up a virtual host in Apache and give them an FTP account. Once all of this is done, they’ll be able to login however this won’t give them a friendly UI so that is something to take into consideration.

Thanks guys. Since I’m a beginner in web hosting my self I don’t want to spend too much only to realize that I cannot complete the process on my own. I will give vesta a try. Again Thanks.

Yes you can change your hosting service to any cloud servers or dedicated server with WHM/cPanel control panel so that you can easily create new web hosting service for your customers. According to my experience you should always go with cPanel because this is one of the best control panel available in market and you cannot compare features of cPanel with any other control panel like zPanel or VestaCP. Its true cPanel license cost is high but as per reliability and features price should not matter.

I setup and manage Cpanel servers on quite a few cloud networks all the time (every day in fact) and have done so for quite a long time and it works very well and in fact may be the perfect ideal environment for Cpanel just given the many advantages that cloud computing has over both traditional VPS and dedicated servers.

Hello, all

This is a really interesting question that I’ve seen before and would like to share my opinion with the rest of you.

There a lot of web panels available (most of them are free to use) that you can choose in order to manage your server. What I can recommend is to try them as in this way you can see if it really suits your needs.

I will list the top control panels that I recommend:

CentOS Web Panel
Vesta CP
Webmin
Ajenti
ISPConfig

and of course I need to mention Plesk although it’s not free it’s been available for a while and it’s always been the main cPanel competitor. It has a lot of build-in features and a lot of plugins that you can install and you can always reach to their support team if needed which is something that might come handy in time.

You’ve now got some great options if you want to use a control panel with your server but you don’t want to pay for a license. I’ve tried to lay out most of the available options, but which one is best will ultimately depend on your individual needs.

Regards,
Alex
