Question

Website Domain Redirection and WordPress Ecommerce Plan Purchase Error

Hey guys,

I don’t know if it’s the right place to discuss this but I am doing it anyway,

I need some help with my website, The Market Girl. Right now, it’s created on my subdomain that is being hosted at Namecheap. the wordpress site that is built is on the free plan WordPress and can be accessed at http://www.themarketgirl.thebigshoutout.net/ But I want to redirect it to its actual Google domain, the-market-girl.co.uk.

Can you guys give me some guidance on how to do this? I want to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Also, I tried to buy the WordPress e-commerce plan but it didn’t work out. I already reported the issue but no response.

Thanks a bunch for your time and support. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon!

Hello @tnawazzz,

To point your Google domain to your Namecheap-hosted WordPress website you can do something like the following:

Log in to your Google account --> In your Google Domains dashboard, click on the domain you want to manage (the-market-girl.co.uk) --> Go to the DNS tab, scroll down to the “Custom resource records” section.

Once there, you can start adding your DNS records. You’ll need to add two A records that point to your Namecheap server’s IP address. You can find this information in your Namecheap account dashboard.

  • Click on “+ Add” to create a new record.
  • For both records, set the “Name” field to “@”.
  • Set the “Type” to “A”.
  • In the “Data” field, enter your Namecheap server’s IP address.
  • Set the “TTL” (Time To Live) to “1h” (1 hour) or the lowest value available.

You’ll need to add a CNAME record for the ‘www’ subdomain to redirect it to your main domain.

  • Click on “+ Add” to create a new record.
  • Set the “Name” field to “www”.
  • Set the “Type” to “CNAME”.
  • In the “Data” field, enter your main domain: “the-market-girl.co.uk”.
  • Set the “TTL” (Time To Live) to “1h” (1 hour) or the lowest value available.

As for the WordPress e-commerce plan issue, I recommend reaching out to WordPress support again and provide them with as much information as possible about the issue you’re facing.

You’ll need to migrate your WordPress website but I would assume since you want to buy the e-commerce they should be able to help you with that.
