Weekly backups have caused our server to go down for 2+ hours!!!

What are we supposed to do when this happens? I've sent a ticket out 2 hours ago, posted on Facebook and Twitter with no response as of yet.

The control panel is locked down and the status is "EVENT PROCESSING"...

10+ websites are down and now we are at the mercy of Digital Ocean's support team.
