I first found DigitalOcean when I was tasked with configuring FTPS and SFTP servers for the US Federal Government. The tutorials were amazing. I was able to create a system on RHEL where certain users were Chrooted, the servers were providing both SFTP and FTPS capabilities…root logins disabled…ssh key auth enabled, I mean it really goes on and on. I loved the tutorials, but I didn’t even know what DO was or all the things it’s provided.
Fast forward to now and I have a $10/mo droplet running a webserver, hosting a wordpress site.
I mean…the whole business model is so cool. I just imagine a bad ass server farm being rented out. I’m loving my droplet…it’s simple but fast and efficient. I love the whole idea of the digital ocean business and the tutorials are beyond awesome.
Anyway, where are locations for DO? Mostly NYC in the USA? Not sure if I’d wanna move there, I need to be near some good waves to surf. But given how much I love the company and how amazingly awesome the tutorials and knowledge base is/are, what options are there for working with this company?
