The information provided here is insufficient to find the root cause of the issue. Firstly, I would request you to check the permission and ownership of the file which you are trying to edit by listing it:
ls -la
Once you confirm that the user has the write permission to the file then you can edit the file using editors such as vim or nano.
sudo vi filename

It’s possible that your file has the immutable attribute and you might need to remove it in order to edit it.
Anyway, let’s take it one step at a time.
First, go to that file and see it’s permissions and ownerships:
ls -lah NameOfFile
If everything is okay there, type in the following command
lsattr NameOfFile
It will show you the attributes assigned to this file, if you see i there that means the file is made immutable. To remove this attribute type in
chattr -i NameOfFile
