If it’s a regular text file, you can use nano or vim. Nano is more user friendly for beginners.

Nano:

nano /path/to/text.txt

Vim:

vim /path/tp/text.txt

Alternatively you can also use SFTP to edit files: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-use-filezilla-to-transfer-and-manage-files-securely-on-your-vps
