Hello,
I only have little knowledge about Linux OS. I’m trying to create a droplet in San Francisco (i think its the best for Asia) and just want to ask if which OS/kernel is best optimized to use for mobile application?
I am planning to use NGINX / PHP / MYSQL as a web server.

Thanks Pablo, What should be the min. memory if im going to use 64bit Ubuntu?
IMHO, they’re all on equal footing on that front.

If you only have a “little knowledge about Linux” I’d suggest Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64-bit. In regard to documentation or figuring out how to accomplish certain tasks, there seems to be more information out there targeted toward n00bs for Ubuntu.
512 MB will work, but make sure to add swap: How To Add Swap on Ubuntu 12.04.

One nice feature about D.O. is that you can scale your droplet up, rather easily, should you ‘out-grow’ it.

If your app is going to be heavy on MySQL calls, then you’ll be better off w/a multi-core droplet (I think they start @ $20/mo.).
