Question

Which plan should I sign up for?

Posted June 17, 2014 3.2k views
I've got a beauty blog (http://missmaven.com/) that's currently being hosted on GoDaddy but I don't think their shared servers are enough to support the traffic. Which of the plans on Digital Ocean is best for me? I get approximately 8-10k hits a day. Thanks!

That depends on your application memory/cpu requirements. You may want to start with a $20 droplet, it's good for most things.
As @andrew.kreps said... a $20 droplet is fine. I would recommend nginx + php-fpm + mysql + varnish and will work like a charm.

Hello, all

Choosing the right Droplet plan depends on your workload. An oversized Droplet would underuse its resources and cost more, but an undersized Droplet running at full CPU or memory would suffer from degraded performance or errors.

You can also resize a Droplet to a larger plan after creation, including resizing to a larger Droplet plan of a different kind. For example, you can resize from a Basic Droplet plan to a larger CPU-Optimized Droplet plan. See the Droplet pricing page for a full list of plans and prices.

You can always check our tutorial on Choosing the Right Droplet Plan

Hope that this helps!

Alex
