Why am I getting the error "caught SIGTERM, shutting down" in my apache2 error.log file?

ApacheUbuntu 16.04

I’m just trying to set up and configure a static web server, but I keep getting these logs in /var/log/apache2/error.log after I try to hit my site using my domain name. Can someone please help?

Hey. Did you find a solution to this? I am getting the same error message.

  • I did not find a solution to this. I ended up scrapping that ubuntu instance and just completely rebuilding a new one and then I just did the “implement/test” cycle(make a small change and then test to make sure it didn’t break anything), and I never saw the issue again.

I think that error in the logs is pretty generic from what I understand so it’s not terribly useful.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. I know how frustrating it can be.
