Why does my GoDaddy domain not apply for droplet?

Posted on February 16, 2018

I setup dns name servers on godday.com (see screenshot). Then I setup domains in DigitalOcean web interface (add domain, dns records). I checked the whois info.

I am trying to navigate in browser by dns name - 'http://mmareviews.ru` and it does not work. If do this by ip - ‘http://188.166.120.107/’ then all works fine.

What I need to do?

This question was answered by @jasonjpeters:

Investigating your domain the root A record does not point to the aforementioned IP address (188.166.120.107) but rather to 188.166.61.199

As shown here: https://www.whatsmydns.net/?utm_source=whatsmydns.com&utm_medium=redirect#A/mmareviews.ru

Perhaps is 188.166.61.199 a DO Floating IP? When I visit the domain an NGINX error page is presented - if this is the case, the NGINX config just needs to be adjusted.

If not, then you need to update your DNS to the proper IP address.
