Why does my WordPress site sometimes go down and say "Error Establishing Connection?"

Sometimes, my WordPress site goes down (usually brought to my attention by someone visiting my site) and I have to reboot the droplet via “sudo shutdown -r now”

Why is this happening? What can I do to prevent this?

    Thank you. I’m getting a lot of “Cannot allocate memory for the buffer pool” messages which indicates I need to increase my memory. But how do I know how much to increase? Currently, I’m at 1gb. Should 2gb be enough?

    Also, should I upgrade CPU and RAM only or Disk, CPU and RAM?

Ok, then you can increase your memory size.

The size will be based on your usage.

So, for now, you can increase it to 2GB. Then restart via putty. Check if it is working or not.

Yes, you just upgrade CPU and RAM only.

    I just upgraded it from 1gb to 2gb and I’m still getting the same “Cannot allocate memory for the buffer pool” messages. Are these messages current or are they the same messages from 6 hours ago when I posted my last reply? Should I upgrade even more? The site seems to be doing okay for now…

If the website is working fine, then you don’t have to touch it again.
