  • Hi! In order to be able to help you better, we’ll need some more info. Are there any errors in your webserver’s logs?

    sudo tail -30 /var/log/apache2/error.log

Replace apache2 with nginx if you’re running nginx.

Without more information it is not possible to provide you specific steps to resolve the problems you’re encountering. It sounds like these issues are certainly permissions related so I would recommend starting with this introduction to Linux filesystem permissions.

If you are planning to improve your Linux skills, it is essential that you have a decent understanding of how these work. In this tutorial, we will cover how to view and understand Linux ownership and permissions.
