Hello,

I am the Manager of a car wash Warwick company and have a website that I worked from last 7 to 8 years and till now I am not facing such issues from my website and get successful to target my niche and earn money online easily.

As our, all my clients are from different countries but I focusing on Australia region majorly and testes several settings to get the best clients in fewer hours and I am getting success in each level but failed to impress them with one small issue which always bugs and hit my reputation in front of my clients.

My issue is that my website page loading is very slow and on several occasions, it is failing in opening my landing page which irritates my clients and they never return to my website.

I am connected with the digital ocean last year and notice many changes in my website speed and other amazing things but from last week I am getting again these slow page loading issues and this is the main reason why I am here to right my issue.

I have not a single issue with your services but still, I need to solve this issue because all my business and important projects depend on my website.

I hope that you understand my query and will reply to me as soon as possible with the best possible solution to this issue.

Thanks for giving me a platform to write my query and all the efforts which you make to write an answer.

Have a nice day!

  • Hi @CarWashWarwick

Thanks a lot for using Digital Ocean, I am happy that you liked it despite this issue you are having today, I can help you diagnose the issue and get it fixed but first we need to identify the source of this issue, can you please answer these questions?

    • What is your website’s domain? And also what technology do you use?
    • What is your Digital Ocean setup? How many droplets? their sizes? Do you use Load Balancers or Managed Database clusters?
    • Do you have a spike in the number of users lately?

I am waiting for your answer, you can contact me on my email in my profile for help.

    Have a nice day.

Hi @CarWashWarwick,

There are a few things I would like to suggest you in trying to optimize both your website and server. Let’s start with the server first

Before we start, make sure you create a snapshot of your Droplet in case something gets broken and you need to revert the changes

Server Optimization

1.I’ll recommend you to upgrade to the latest possible PHP version. At the time of writing it’s php7.4.

2.Start thinking about using PHP-FPM on your server. That’s it if you haven’t already installed and configured it.

  1. Install a server side cache like Opcache.

  2. Start using Redis for a much better performance. You’ll need to connect Redis with your website.

Website Optimization

  1. Add Gzip and browser levarage caching in your .htaccess if using Apache and if you are using Nginx, add it in the configuration’s file.

  2. Use PageSpeed Insight’s tool here - https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ to try and determine what you can improve on the website itself.

  3. Lastly, I’ll recommend using CloudFlare. It should help with accessing your website and caching it properly.

Regards,
KDSys
