Hi. I’m running a serverpilot.io instance on Ubuntu 14.04 x64. I’m using WordPress on here. I noticed connection issues with the JetPack plugin. I get this error:
Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host.
Failed to connect to jetpack.wordpress.com port 80: Connection timed out
It turns out that I can’t connect to ANY subdomain of wordpress.com:
$ ping wordpress.com
PING wordpress.com (192.0.78.9) 56(84) bytes of data.
^C
--- wordpress.com ping statistics ---
40 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 39312ms
It resolves the DNS fine, but the connection fails:
traceroute to jetpack.wordpress.com (192.0.78.26), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets

Is this a DO network routing issue? Or do they block connections to wordpress.com?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

This does look like it could be a routing issue. I was not able to duplicate this issue from any of my own droplets (they could all connect to wordpress.com and jetpack.wordpress.com). Please open a ticket with our support team from the control panel and include the details provided here.
