Question

Hi

I get this when i try to install a new plugin:

Installs additions: BuddyPress 2.1.1

Unpacking the package ...

Unable to create directory.

I dont know what its wrong but i think it is some sort of permission problem. But i cannot get it right. Can someone help me?

Make sure your webroot is owned by the user running PHP.

I still have the same problem. But i dont know if i using the right commands or the right user.

try this command:

sudo chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www

and then this one:

sudo chmod -R 775 /var/www

Hi when i try this i dont get access to upload files to the folder(/var/www/tobiaskarlsson86.se/public_html). So do the permission need to be something else then?

You might try adding your user to the www-data group:

sudo usermod -a -G www-data YOURUSERNAME
