Wordpress site and LEMP ram

  • Posted September 14, 2014

Hi all, I’m new!

I would like to ask about hosting a site that currently does not have many visitors and is not heavy. If i install wordpress with LEMP, it will require 1GB of RAM or 512? What should i choose?

If your site is also not complex (I mean, having plenty of complex plugins) and add proper caching then you may start with a smallest droplet (aka $5/m droplet). Using a LEMP server will be best option in my thought. try this

And, Of course you will have option to upgrade (from 512MB to 1GB or more) your droplet anytime.

PS: If It’s a production site consider to enable backup at 20% extra cost. It will be worthy investment.

I do “top” in terminal and i see with LEMP and Wordpress installation (without plugin&site data) on Ubuntu i use 90% of total ram.

KiB Mem: 501880 total, 484296 used, 17584 free, 13436 buffers KiB Swap: 0 total, 0 used, 0 free. 345056 cached Mem

What can i do to optimice this? :(

Perfect! Any tutorial to add a proper caching?

Thank you very much.

Perfect thanks!! I do not know if this question is correct: How many visits can support 512 mb ram in a website of wordpress, lemp and basics plugin? Thanks again!

I run my own site with wordpress on a 512 plan and have no problem. I have about 50 visitors per week and it’s just fine.
