Hello, @fiazshah

Could you please let me know if you’ve also followed our tutorial on how to install WordPress on a Ubuntu 20.04 droplet

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-wordpress-on-ubuntu-20-04-with-a-lamp-stack

You can use Nginx as well if you prefer it over Apache. The article for Nginx is this one:

Are you using a domain name to access the WordPress site or you’re using the droplet’s IP address?

Alex

WordPress is an extremely popular open-source technology and WordPress sites represent 36% of all websites that are currently online. This tutorial is intended for those who are comfortable with system administration or for those who are interested in learning how to administer your own WordPress instance on the server side. In this guide, we’ll install and set up WordPress via LAMP on a Linux Ubuntu 20.04 server.

Hi @fiazshah,

Did you use the WordPress droplet from MarketPlace? IF so, make sure you’ve pointed your domain to your Droplet otherwise it won’t work.

If you haven’t used the MarketPlace Droplet, can you confirm what WebService you are using, is it either Nginx or Apache? We’ll need to see the configuration file for your domain in order to see what’s going on exactly.

Looking forward to your reply.

Regards,
KFSys

Yes I did create a WordPress droplet from the market place and added a domain. I can see a web page generic page when I use the domain or the IP in both cases I see the same page (like a test page) but I dont see WP setup page as it is suppose to happen after the console setup.

  • Hi @fiazshah,

After you connected via SSH to your Droplet, did you following the instructions that appeared there?

Usually, when you create a WordPress droplet, first you need to SSH and follow what’s shown in order for your domain to have WordPress instaled.

@KFSys, Yes I did SSH and console but no success. Is there a way I can run the wp installation process from here?

 IMPORTANT:
After connecting to the Droplet for the first time,
immediately add the WordPress administrator at http://144.126.220.164.

  • Hi @fiazshah,

There should be a way to re-run the installation however if it’s a new droplet, I’ll suggest just Destroying it and creating it again. It will prove easier I believe.

MPORTANT:

I am connected via ssh, is there a way I can restart the wp installation manually from here?
