would like to ask how can we restore a backup on the server

Hello I would like to ask how can we restore a backup on the server, and how can we make it just for the files, not the database. I also need your help to find how can I access phpMyAdmin on my droplet, and if you please provide a tutorial on how to push the current code to github and also how to update the code by pulling from github

Hello there,

If you’re taking manual backups then you can restore the data using scp or rsync in this way you’ll restore just the data you need.

phpMyAdmin is not installed by default so if you’ve not installed it you’ll need to do so. We have a tutorial that covers the process of How To Install and Secure phpMyAdmin on Ubuntu 20.04

We are using droplet, I don’t know if phpMyAdmin is installed or not, but for example when I navigate to /phpmyadmin, I get 404 error

Hi @crmteknik,

Regarding backups, there are two ways you can backup your Droplet. Using Snapshots or Backups.

Snapshots are on-demand disk images of DigitalOcean Droplets and volumes saved to your account. Use them to create new Droplets and volumes with the same contents. You can check more about them here:

Backups are automatically-created disk images of Droplets. Enabling backups for Droplets enables system-level backups at weekly intervals, which provides a way to revert to an older state or create new Droplets. You can check more about them here:

There is no automatic way to backup only your files and not your database. For you to do that, you’ll need to do it manually or using some kind of script setup as a cron.

Regarding phpMyAdmin, have you installed phpMyAdmin or not? Depending on the answer I’ll provide different docs, answer.

Regarding Git, what product are you using, is it App Platofrm or a regular Droplet?
