If I run doctl compute image list
I see 290 images appear. Two examples:
ID Name Type Distribution Slug Public Min Disk Created
112379295 Convoy 0.6.0 on Ubuntu 20.04 application Ubuntu convoy false 25 2022-07-11T09:54:32Z
113137715 Nakama 3.12.0 on Ubuntu 18.04 application Ubuntu nakama-18-04 false 25 2022-07-21T14:55:08Z
I’m sure I didn’t create these images, I don’t use the images feature at all (only snapshots, but I never heard of Nakama). Is creating images in other people’s account a new way to spam a product?

Heya, @unilynx
What you’re seeing with doctl compute image list includes DigitalOcean Marketplace “1-Click” Application Images, which are publicly available base images that DigitalOcean provides or that trusted vendors publish for you to deploy easily.
These images (like Convoy or Nakama) aren’t actually created by you — they’re just available to use if you want to create a Droplet from them.
So, they’re not spam, and they’re not taking up space in your account they’re just listed because doctl compute image list by default shows all images you have access to, including:

Hi,
It sounds like they’re DigitalOcean Marketplace application images that show up in doctl
even though they’re not public or owned by you. It’s a bit confusing, but they’re not spam or injected into your account.
They’re listed because they’re available to you as marketplace images.
You’re not being targeted, and no one’s creating images in your account.
Still, if you want to be 100% sure, reach out to DigitalOcean support and ask them to confirm.
