Adding multiple DNS names to an existing host

Posted on August 1, 2015

Hi,

I have a VPS which is already up and running with a .com DNS. I have the .co.uk equivalent name and would like both name to point to the same VPS, so as an example:

I have example.com and i’d like example.co.uk to point to the same site.

Can anyone suggest how you do this.

I’ve tried just adding the .co.uk to CNAMES but it reyrned with an error.

Thanks in advance, Dave

Hi Saurabh,

OK i’ve added a new domain record for the .co.uk and included the same Ip address.

When I connect to the .co.uk it now displays the Apache2 Ubuntu Default Page saying “it works!”. I take it I need to configure something else on the vps to direct the .co.uk to the main page, how do I do this?

Thanks, Dave
