Hello, I’m wondering how digitalocean is planning to handle the upcoming changes (August 28, 2025) in the public bitnami catalog?
Many guides, tutorials and even 1-click-apps reference or use bitnami helm charts.
Can anyone provide any advice on possible migration paths? How will 1-click-apps be adjusted to handle the changes?
This question extends to bitnami charts in general, but with special interest in the redis and wordpress charts, since those are the most relevant to us right now.

That’s a really good question. From what I understand, Bitnami is moving their Helm charts into a new distribution model, and some of the older public repos will be deprecated after August 28. I believe DigitalOcean is already looking into how this affects the Marketplace 1-Click Apps, since many of them rely on Bitnami charts for services like Redis and WordPress. But not sure if there is any public information about it online yet.
For your own clusters, I think the migration path would be to start referencing the new Bitnami Helm repository directly, or maybe switch over to the community-maintained charts (for example the Bitnami charts on GitHub). It might also be worth keeping an eye on the official DigitalOcean docs and updates in the Marketplace section.
