Initial Server Setup

I am trying to setup a new version of my project and want to copy the current resources on project 1 to project 2.. I don’t want to move as I need project 1 to stay as is. What is the easiest way to do this?

Hi there @mgoblue33,

What you could do in this case is to take a snapshot of your Droplet and then create a new Droplet from that snapshot.

That way you will have an exact copy of your server.

You can follow the steps on how to take a snapshot of a Droplet and then how to create a new Droplet from that snapshot here:

https://www.digitalocean.com/docs/images/snapshots/quickstart/

Hope that this helps!

Bobby

  • Thank you for responding so quickly! I was able to do this but I couldn’t login to the server to get to the env file to change the IP address. The password is the same as the original snapshot. Do you know why this would happen?
