Can't access MySQL on Private IP

Posted on March 11, 2020

Hi, I spun up a LAMP server and enable MySQL remote access. I can connect from another droplet in the same data-center (or my home) with the public IP but I cannot get to it using the private IP on the server in the same center.

I also cannot ping that private IP from the other server t the center.

Any ideas?
Thanks, Sean

Hi there @sdevoy,

As you are unable to ping the IP address, I think that it might be something related to the Network configuration. Have you tried following the steps from the official DigitalOcean documentation on how to get started with private networking:

https://www.digitalocean.com/docs/networking/private-networking/quickstart/
