When I go to admin login for my foundation’s website, it does not recognize my email address. The guy who set up the site has disappeared and I went in to make a change and mistakenly deleted my email . Digital Ocean support say" this is the login to your site’s admin panel, and is not directly linked to any of your DigitalOcean information. The username/passwords for this would be handled strictly within your application." However, if you know the application that this is running on, you may be able to find instructions on how to reset this yourself. Problem is I know nothing about what application he used. Any advice?

Hi Steve,

Like the support team said, without knowing what application/content management system you are using, it is very hard to know where to start. There are some sites that try guessing what runs a given web site:

http://whatcms.org/
http://whatcmsisthis.com/

See if they return anything. As long as you still have access to the server itself, you should still be able to regain control of the site. It’s just hard to tell you what to do without more details.
