Can your servers support SwampDragon/Websockets?

Posted on September 12, 2015

I wish to install http://swampdragon.net, plus Django and Python with Websockets support. Is that possible?

Thanks …

Definitely. A droplet is a Linux VPS with full root access so you can install whatever you want on it.

Start by spinning up an Ubuntu 14.04 droplet. In the Create Droplet page, check the User Data setting and add the following script to the text box that appears: Ubuntu-14.04/no-sql/redis.yml. This will install Redis which is required to use SwampDragon.

Then, set it up by following this tutorial:

Once you’re done, install python and pip:

sudo apt-get install python python-pip

Finally, install SwampDragon:

sudo pip install swampdragon

You can then follow SwampDragon’s documentation on how to use it: Quick start.
