i just created a droplet but cannot login with the supplied username (root) and password? What can i do?

Glad to hear you got it working! I’m not sure if this was your problem, but one thing that people sometimes get caught up on is the fact that that the first prompt is for the current root password. The one that is emailed to you.
You are required to change your password immediately (root enforced)
Changing password for root.
(current) UNIX password:
Enter new UNIX password:
Retype new UNIX password:
If that is entered incorrectly, you will be logged out and the password will not have changed.
