Change Ubuntu's CDN

Posted on April 1, 2014

Hello, i’m using ubuntu for over 2 years now and i never came across this problem before! My droplet is located in europe (in ams2) however when i’m downloading something from apt-get the download is processed in us.archive.ubuntu.com which is ridiculously SLOW! Is it possible to change the server preferences to europe? Thanks! ( http://prntscr.com/311ir6 )

Thank you sir :)

Yes – you can edit
/etc/apt/sources.list
and replace us.archive.ubuntu.com with nl.archive.ubuntu.com. Once you’ve done that, you should run apt-get update to allow the changes to take place.
