By choosing «LAMP on Ubuntu 12.04» in Applications it set ups a server version. I can put LAMP on this but I still need GUI.

I agree with Kamal. However, if you’re looking for an even lighter-weight xwindows, try fluxbox. It may take more customization/setup, though, so bear that in mind.
