Hello all,
I am a new member of Digital Ocean and I would like to ask if they have any kind of disaster recovery. While the 99,99% uptime is very comforting, I would love to see an option like: “if my droplet is down for x minutes, reboot or even relaunch the same droplet”.
Is there anything like this?

Hei LeonidasGR,
as far as I know, there is no automatic recovery when just your server fails. You can choose the backup option on your droplet and use the backup to restart. You can use Monitoring to create alerts whenever this happens. You may also consider the API to restart droplets and querying current stats.
For our production servers, we enabled the backup option and make additional backups of all relevant files like databases, important files etc. to spaces. Whenever a system fails we get notified via an alert. Normally it is also not recommended to just restart a server right away without looking into the problem.
Best wishes, Niklas
