Full discloser – I’m new to system administration stuff but I’m learning.
Recently setup and configured Redis on my production server but left my fastcgi Cache in place.
Is this counterproductive or does it have any benefits? The only thing I’ve really noticed is my server load hasn’t changed while my ram usage has increased slightly.
Do I need to remove my fastcgi cache to properly use Redis?

I am fairly new, so maybe somebody with more experience can help as well, but from my understanding fastcgi is for http caching between the webserver (nginx) and the hosted application, and redis is for object cache between the hosted application and the database, take a look at these links for reference if you are setting up a WordPress site, but the same principles will apply to other applications.
