Does setting kernel parameters in the grub config actually work?

September 18, 2014 1.6k views

I am getting kernel: Clocksource tsc unstable (delta = -8589962873 ns). Enable clocksource failover by adding clocksource_failover kernel parameter. Messages in my logs. I have added parameters to my grub config to address this issue but the messages continue. I am thinking that because we have to pick the kernel in the control panel, that the hypervisor is not using the grub config.

Due to the virtualization technology that we use, the kernel running on the droplet must match what is being run on the hypervisor level. Boot parameters must be passed on the hypervisor. If you open a support ticket, the team should be able to get you squared away.
