Domain name already exists for newly registered domain

Posted on January 30, 2022

Hi, I’m getting a Domain name already exists red box when I try to add my domain to Networking -> Domains. I haven’t registered this domain in any of my droplets before. Is there a work around, I can prove ownership of the domain. Kind regards, Nox

The system performs a DNS lookup to see if the domain has already been added to DigitalOcean. If it has, you’ll receive a message that says Data domain example.com: Name already exists. If the domain has not been previously added to DigitalOcean’s DNS service, it will be added.
