What is the reason for this report?

Error systemctl start smbd.service

During executing systemctl start smbd.service i received message

“Failed to start smbd.service: The name org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1 was not provided by any .service files”

apt-get install policykit-1

during installation i see

“/usr/sbin/policy-rc.d returned 101, not running ‘restart polkitd.service’”

Do you have some ideas how avoid of fix it?

Hi @dnsmironov,

Are you by any chance trying to run these commands with another user and not root? If yes, you’ll need to use sudo.

Additionally, try to re-install policykit-1, it seems like it might have some leftover files which are making these errors.
