What is the reason for this report?

Expand filesystem size on Ubuntu 16.04

My hard disk on VM has 40 GB. And i had increase it to 100 GB. Now i want to increase the size of filesystem. How can i do it ?

You need to resize your Droplet to a bigger one. Take a look at the How To Resize Your Droplets on DigitalOcean tutorial to learn more about the process.

Beside that, there’s the Block Storage feature, but it’s not used to resize your VM — it adds an additional disk to the VM (for example you would have one disk of 40 GB (VM’s default one) and another one of 60 GB or how much you choose/need).
