File system in read-only mode?

April 16, 2013 4.5k views
Noticed that my droplet's file system is in read-only mode, with dmesg showing aborted journal writes. [7767208.611082] Aborting journal on device sda-8. [7767208.637496] EXT4-fs error (device sda): ext4_journal_start_sb:370: Detected aborted journal [7767208.649744] EXT4-fs error (device sda): ext4_journal_start_sb:370: Detected aborted journal [7767208.652709] EXT4-fs error (device sda): ext4_journal_start_sb:370: Detected aborted journal [7795978.118274] journal commit I/O error Anyone else seeing this, or have suggestions for resolution? Thanks! Gabe

Hi Gabe,

Best to open a support ticket regarding this so we can troubleshoot it.

Most often cause of a RO FS is an unclean shutdown during heavy IO load.
ive experienced this a few times on my droplet :( have a support issue open about it now

have experienced no heavy load that would shut it down
