Help getting SSL to work

Posted on January 18, 2020

Hi, I did a WordPress on Ubuntu 18.04 droplet. I just did the normal install, got into the dashboard, and the site works but only over HTTP. I did go to my security under account and add a certificate, and on install of the WP it also asked and I had said yes. Still my site won’t work under HTTPS, is this just a waiting issue or did I miss something?

Hello, @jarnold910

Could you please let me know what you’ve done on your droplet? Have you uploaded the SSL files and updated the Apache/Nginx virtual hosts in order to load the SSL certificate files.

You will also need to make sure that port 443 is open and that Apache/Nginx is listening on it as well.

You can check this tutorial as you might find it useful:

Let me know how it goes.

Regards, Alex
