Question

How can I see the build logs for my application if the build was skipped for a deployment?

I made a change to my application and it deployed successfully, but when I click View Logs in the progress bar, I don’t see any build logs and it says The build was skipped for this deployment.

  • Hello, im having the same issue. The deployment says “The build was skipped for component "MyComponentName”“ but it is not doing the build we need(like nothing happened).(Gatsby site)

Is there a way to know more about this? did you manage to solve this issue?

Sometimes when viewing the details of a Deployment you will see the message “The build was skipped for this deployment” and no build logs will appear. This happens when App Platform was able to save time by re-using the results of a previous build (i.e. when nothing about your app’s containers underwent a significant change).

To see the current build logs for this application, look back in your app’s Deployment History until you find the most recent Deployment with non-empty build logs.

  • @jakelevirne should not DigitalOcean automatically show the build logs for the latest build? Why should we go through these repetitive steps manually while it can be fully automated in the DigitalOcean UI. Please improve.
