I’d like to create a Kubernetes cluster with doctl k8s cluster create, but I can’t see how to configure the project under which the cluster should exist. Is it supported at all? My version of doctl is 1.28.0-release.

I don’t think that this is currently supported with their API nor doclt. I guess that you could raise an issue here and ask for this feature: https://github.com/digitalocean/doctl/issues
But a simple work around would be to use the doctl projects update and change your default project, then create your cluster and after that again with the doctl projects update set your default project back to normal.
