How should I pass Namecheap's Domain Control Validation with DNS?

Posted on September 24, 2018

I have purchased a SSL ceritifcation from namecheap.com, I have chose to use DNS to verify my domain. Namecheap provided me a “HOST” (randomstring.mydomain.com) and a TARGET (randomstring.comodoca.com).

How should I use these information to make validation? What should I input in DigitalOcean CNAME record?

Thank you.

Sure, simply put the verification .txt file on your server and it will validate. This is the guide I followed to get it done.

Heya,

If the domain name is using Namecheap’s nameservers the DNS record needs to be set through Namecheap’s control panel and not DigitalOcean

If the domain name uses DO’s nameservers than you can follow our docs on how to set the DNS records.
