How to acces a web page with my VPS

Posted July 24, 2020 436 views

Hi, I am a real beginner at using a VPS.
My question is about acces to a web page.
I want to have acces to a web page ( 24/7. Now I can only acces this page via my browser on my mac. But if I close my mac the activity stops.
Is there a way that I can use my VPS to keep acces to this page 24/7?
I hope I’m explaining myself ok. Please ask a question if something is unclear.

Hi @frankengel,

How are you hosting this page, is it a service you have running n your MAC or something else? You should be able to configure this service to run on your droplet without a problem but I would need a little more information about it to provide you with the complete guide on how to do it.

  • Hi KFSys,

Thank you for answering. This page ( is not mine to host. It’s a page made by someone else. this page has the possibility to run a bot to trade using a API from an exchange ( and it runs an a local browser. But if a close the browser of close MAC it shuts down the activity on the page. So is there a possibility to open this page via the VPS somehow?

    • Yes, there are some ways one of which is using the command lynx.

If you don’t have it on your droplet, you should be able to easily install it by running

      yum install lynx

      sudo apt-get lynx

      depending on your OS
