how to configure my droplet to respond with a subdomain

Posted on September 29, 2014

Hello,

I have a domain name pointing to a certain server, I configured the A record for the subdomain (cursos.mydomain.com.mx) to point to the IP of my droplet in digitalocean. My droplet name is the same as the subdomain (cursos.mydomain.com.mx) and I added the same as the domain in the DNS configuration on the panel.

If I go to my site cursos.mydomain.com.mx it shows an error that you can only access the server by the IP and redirects to the site showing the IP not the subdomain.

So there must be a way to configure it and show the subdomain but so far I haven’t found the solution.

Please help.

Regards, Maurer

Nevermind, I’m running moodle and it seems that is a problem of it, not the server. Thank you for your help.
