How to setup automated testing automated testing in DO Apps build pipeline?

Hi DO community,

We have been using DO Apps and looking forward to running our tests automatically when we deploy our code from one env to another. Do we have currently any way of doing that? Our platform is built with Django and we have unit tests that we are planning to run with Jenkins and Selenium tests.

I just came across this question. What I personally do is to use the GitHub actions to run my tests on each pull request. That way the code is only merged to my main branch only if it passes the tests.

I recently wrote a tutorial on how to do this with Laravel, but the concept would be similar:

How to Automatically Run Your Laravel PestPHP Tests on Each GitHub Pull Request?

Basically, that way the tests would run when a pull request is open, and if they pass, the maintainer would merge the pull request and only then the code would be deployed to the App platform.

In case that you would like this to be implemented as a feature to the App platform itself, the best thing to do to get your voice heard regarding this would be to head over to our Product Ideas board and post a new idea, including as much information as possible for what you’d like to see implemented.

Best, Bobby
