I was abble to install blender with the instructions from the thread: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/questions/how-to-install-blender-2-79-ubuntu-20-04-2021
sudo snap install blender --classic
Got error: /snap/blender/2578/blender: error while loading shared libraries: libXi.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory and also had to install libxi6
sudo apt install -y libxi6 libxxf86vm1 libxfixes3 libxrender1 libgl1
After that, I got the error [ALSOFT] (EE) Failed to set real-time priority for thread: Operation not permitted (1)
And changed the file /etc/security/limits.conf adding these two lines:
<username> hard rtprio 99
<username> soft rtprio 99
After restart the droplet (power on/off) I was able to run blender in the background, but now I’m receiving:
/run/user/1000/gvfs/ non-existent directory
I’ve already installed gvfs, but error persists. Can’t render yet, blender reads the file, but after some seconds, got Killed in the terminal.

Killed
Does anyone successfully installed and used blender inside Droplet for rendering with CPU?
Thanks in advance.

Hi there,
The Killed message most likely indicates that your server is running out of RAM. You can check your syslog to verify if this is the case.
What you could do is:
