Hello, @troyClam
My suggestion will be to create a holding page which can say that you’re currently building your new website, basically a coming soon page. In this way you will let people know that you’re working on the site, it’s more professional to do it in this way and you wont lose site traffic as well. You can setup a simple HTML page explaining that you’ll be back in March.
The other way it’s just to rename the pubic_html directory to pubic_htmlOLD or something different from pubic_html and in this way the site wont load. You can also alter the virtual host and change the root directory, but this is basically the same as changing the public_html folder name.
Regards, Alex
