Hi

I have recently moved database in other droplet and different region. But now query execution time and page loading is too slow. Previously both application and database was running in the same droplet. It was very fast. I am unable to find the region? query execution time is increased from 1 second to 12 second.

Is it because of latency issue or nodes?, Can private networking will increase the speed? kindly suggest.

Hi,

If you are running multiple queries and both Droplets are in different regions with high latency between them, it can dramatically slow down performance. It’s recommended to keep such setups contained in preferably one region, or one location (e.g. NYC2 and NYC3), to minimize latency and performance hits as much as possible. Private networking will definitely help and provide the lowest latency, however you will still have to move both Droplets to the same region in order to be able to use it.
